Sinead O'Connor: Still The Bravest Woman in Pop Music

This is a live version of a new song, available here, here and here, called “If You Had A Vineyard.”

Sinead is still a working musician, and is doing some of the best, boldest work of her career right now. Her last CD, “Throw Down Your Arms” was terrific and the next one seems to hold a great deal of promise if the two previews available online are any indication.

Wake up, People! Grammies my ass.

I still find it so frustrating when I hear people say, "Yeah, I haven't heard about her since she tore up the pope. Is she still recording?"

ARGGGGGH! I even had to defend her honor to USA Today who had reiterated the "death of her career" perception without bothering to check out her last few albums.

Thanks for keeping The Mighty S in my world, Fang.

Man, I love Sinead. But I must confess, I still want to hear her put out something harder rocking than anything she's ever done, something more raw than even her first album (which was fairly produced, actually).

She's got it in her, with her range of emotions, especially the caterwauling.

If I were a Super Producer, I'd team her up w/Sonic Youth. Goddamn that would be the shit.

Maybe someday, when Sinead's feeling the need to rage a bit ...
