Tom Waits: 82nd Greatest Singer Of All Tiiiime!!
Proclaimed as such by no less an authority than the bright boys and gals over at Rolling Stone magazine.
I wonder how Johnny Cash did... (#21 - fuck yeah!) ... Axl Rose is 64 - do we still need him, will we still feed him...? We’ll know in the next couple weeks, I guess...
Only one complaint: Where the hell is Leonard Cohen on this list??!

A singer must die.

Not literally, of course.

A couple of things about that list:
1. It should include Carl, not Brian, Wilson. Carl had the beautiful voice and sang songs like "God Only Knows." Brian has a nice enough voice, but his role was the genius of the operation, not the voice.
2. Roger Daltry should be much higher up than #61 -- certainly higher than Kurt Cobain (#45) or Elton John (#38).
3. Are you happy about Bono (#32) and Neil Young (#37)?

MD - Quit hogging this space!
Two glaring omissions for me on this list: Sinead O'Connor and George Michael.

Wow, Sinead and George Michael. Good calls.
Anyhow, everyone who always says these lists are bullshit, well, they're right. It's Rock Snob for fantasy-league baseball. And yes, I'm happy with both Neil and Bono making the list. Why wouldn't I be?

I was amused that Keith Richards voted himself #20.
